The Macallan introduced 2 new whiskeys: Double Cask 15 Years Old and Double Cask 18 Years Old.

The double-aged whiskey is presented in the Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old range in 2016. For aging whiskey in this series are used barrels of American and European oak-aged sherry.

A bottle of Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old will cost $125 or £100, and a Macallan 18 Years Old will cost $313 or £250. Both drinks have 43% alcohol. Distributors of the new whiskey will be such stores as The Whiskey Exchange, Master of Malt, and The Whiskey Shop.

Kirstin Campbell, the master of whiskey production at The Macallan, says:

Combining American and European oak sherry barrels to reach a perfectly balanced taste and aroma is a new, exciting experience for our team of craftsmen.

At Double Cask 15 Years Old there are delicate and pleasant aromas of American oak, with the inherent ratio of honey, citrus and chocolate notes. The aromas of fruits, sherry, and wood, traditional for the Macallan products, are also felt since oak barrels greatly affect the characteristics of the original product.

Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old proposes a more sophisticated bouquet with raisins and a finely balanced oak hue.
